Visitors are Welcome

Visits help both patients and family or friends. It is important to remember that people in the hospital need rest and may be particularly sensitive to noise and activity.

As a patient, you will be asked if you wish to restrict visitors and telephone calls. If, at any time during your stay, you wish to limit visitors and calls, please tell the nursing staff.

Visitor Recommendations

  • Follow hospital visiting hours.
  • Clean your hands before touching anything in a patient room.
  • Ask the nursing staff if you have any questions.
  • Speak quietly.
  • Supervise visitors under the age of 14 at all times.
  • Remain in the areas open to the general public.
  • Don't visit if you have a cold, sore throat or other contagious illness.
  • Don't bring in food without permission of the attending medical staff.
  • Don't sit on bed or handle any bedside equipment.

Visiting Hours

District One has an open visitation policy. Visitors are welcome at anytime if there is a valid benefit to the patient, with appropriate screening and consult from the caregiver treating the patient.  We recommend that friends and extended family follow visiting hours of 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

NOTE: Visitors who are in the hospital after 8:30 p.m. must have a visitor ID. Visitors entering the building after 8:30 p.m. should use the Emergency Department entrance.

Family Accommodations

A family member may be able to spend the night with patients who are in private rooms. For more information, contact a member of the nursing team.

WiFi Access - Guest Pass

District One Hospital offers patients and visitors complimentary wireless access to the Internet. All you need is a wireless device (laptop, tablet, PDA, etc.) to surf the net or check your email. Wireless access is provided free of charge and is available almost everywhere. A Guest Pass username and password will be required for access. Ask a member of the nursing team for details.

Parking

Visitor parking is located near the east hospital entrance on State Avenue. The east entrance is open from 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. daily.

Condition Reports

To ensure patient privacy and confidentiality, any personal information about a patient’s medical condition will not be given over the phone. For patients in ICU, a designated family member is welcome to call the nursing station for condition updates.

Interpreting Services

Foreign language interpreters are available to meet the needs of our non-English speaking patients.

Smoking

For the safety and comfort of our patients, District One Hospital is a tobacco-free healthcare campus. Tobacco use of any kind is not permitted at any time in DOH buildings or on its grounds.

Angel's Attic Gift Shop/Flowers

The Angel's Attic Gift Shop, located on the first level near the main entrance, is open Monday–Friday 9 a.m.– 4 p.m. The Gift Shop offers gifts, greeting cards, toiletries and fresh flowers. The shop is operated by the Auxilian Advocates for Health, and all proceeds benefit community health projects. The Gift Shop accepts cash or personal check.

ATM

The ATM is located on the first level around the corner from the main entrance of the hospital.

The Cafeteria

Our full service cafeteria offers a large salad bar, soup, and multiple entrées.
The Cafeteria is open at the following times:
Breakfast 8:15am – 10:15am
Lunch 11:45am – 1:30pm
Dinner 5:00pm – 6:30pm.

Notary Public    

Notary services are available during regular working hours. Hospital employees may not notarize documents that are in conflict with hospital policy. Please call 507-334-6451 for assistance.
